The Fureys - one of Ireland’s all-time greatest folk and traditional bands - will say farewell to Belfast fans with their last ever concert in the city at the Waterfront Hall on Friday 2nd January.

Band leaders and co-founders, Eddie and George Furey are bringing down the curtain on an extraordinary career that has seen The Fureys captivate fans across six decades with their incredible catalogue of unmistakeable and timeless music.
This final Belfast Fureys concert promises a night of music magic, fuelled with memories and emotion as the legends of Irish music and song say goodbye with a compelling journey through all of their best-loved classics, including I Will Love You, When You Were Sweet 16, The Old Man, Red Rose Café, Her Father Didn’t Like Me Anyway, Leaving Nancy, From Clare to Here and The Green Fields of France.
The Fureys have always had a deep and passionate connection with generations of Belfast fans since forming back in 1978. As well as having played the Waterfront Hall an incredible twelve times to date, they have also performed many times at the Ulster Hall, the Grand Opera House and at the former Arts Theatre in Botanic Avenue - concerts in time that are now woven into the fabric of the city’s rich musical folklore.
As hugely influential and acclaimed ambassadors for Irish folk music on the international stage, they have wowed audiences in the most prestigious concert halls, while also performing for presidents, world leaders and global cultural icons along the way.
And now The Fureys are returning to the Waterfront Hall for their thirteenth and final visit to treat Belfast fans to an unforgettable farewell and to say ‘thank you’ to the city that has played such an important part in their near 50-year extraordinary career.
Eddie and George Furey on playing Belfast...
“We have been coming to this beautiful city for many years, playing our music, singing our songs with musicians, storytellers, singers and comedians and of course meeting many people that became great friends of ours over the years.” (George Furey)
“There’s great craic around the old pubs in Belfast and we love talking to the people after the shows.” (Eddie Furey)
